Rainbow Lake is situated on Newbridge Road, Burstwick, just past Hedon on the Withernsea road in East Yorkshire, is well stocked and has a large selection of fish for all types of anglers.

Rainbow Lake's origins were as gravel pits first dug in 1880's with the larger stones going to build Withernsea Lighthouse. It is approximately 6 acres in size, mature and tree lined, with 31 pegs varying from 5 to 18 feet in depth. Most pegs are large enough to take a bivy whilst other pegs are more for day fishing.

John and Linda have own this well stocked lake and have a re-stocking plan to make his one of the best fishing lakes in the area. So keep looking in the News to read about the catches, and the Gallery to see the variety of fish caught.

The fish in the lake are Common, Grass, Mirror, and Ghost Carp, Bream, Roach, Tench, Rudd, Chubb, Perch, Eels, and Gudgin. The largest fish caught was a Mirror Carp at 29lb, Commons to 22 lb and the Grass and Ghost carp to 18 lb.

The type of fish we are restocking are Mark Simmons strain of Mirror Carp. The first batch of 44 were introduced in January 2005 at 4lb 8oz in September 2005 catch weights Dec 2006 around 14lb. The second batch were introduced on 1st March 2006. There was 5 mirrors weighing in at 24lb, 25lb, 2x26lb and Burtie at 26lb 12oz. The third batch went in November 2006 weights around 11lb to 14lb.

All the fish are now bouncing weight on and giving the anglers a good run just have a look in the fishing tips to see the amount of 20plus fish caught this year.
 
There is parking available at most swims for ease of access. With 31 swims to choose from it will be a pleasure to walk around and pick the one you would most like to fish. Car access is to most swims, and BLUE BADGE friendly.
