This is a mature former gravel pit comprising some 74 acres of general mixed fishery. The lake is fed by the River Darenth and incorporates some shallower areas of 3 to 4 feet and yet certain swims where the depths can reach 30 to 40 feet . This fishery , given its size , has over 90 swims so even in the high of summer there is always somewhere to fish . All of the obvious species are present (Bream, Skimmers, Carp, Roach, Perch, Tench ,Etc) and with the River Darenth flowing through Chub are sometimes resident . Pike are also to be found and in the season ending March 1999 over 15 "20lbs" were recorded and in the 2000 Season a Pike weighting 29lbs 6ozs was caught. A "31"was caught in 1998. Carp to the mid 20`s are present (Commons and Mirrors) and a few are in the 30`s . With a good head of smaller fish to be found . Big bags of bream are possible , a recent competition winning weight of 93lbs was recorded with pleasure bags to 50lbs not uncommon and with someone in 1999 season in the early summer catching over the 200 lbs . Perch over 2lbs , eels to 5lbs and the occasional Tench to 8lbs are possible. Take a look at the photo gallery pages.
