The Lake 

Cas-En-Lac is a 50 year old mature gravel pit situated just South of Rennes on the edge of Brittany only 1 hour from St Malo or 2 hours from Caen close to a typical picturesque small village of the region. Cas-en-Lac is a classy 30’s and 40’s Lake with a few 50’s as well. In quiet secluded surroundings.

The 20 acre lake is set in over 10 acres of beautiful secured surroundings with the River Meu securing two thirds of the property and the rest is fenced. The lake is tree lined giving you some shade in most swims and add to its beauty there are 3 islands with 1 large island in the middle with 4 bays to keep you interested. The depths vary between 10ft-4ft but the bottom is fairly even with silt & gravel. You don’t need to worry about crayfish or poisson chats here there are none! We have provided 12 comfortable swims so that there is more than enough room for you to move and get on the fish if need be. The facilities include on site toilets, a shower and fresh water. It is also possible to drive around a large part of the lake to drop off and pick up your tackle.

Fish Stocks

After five years of stocking with fish that we have carefully selected and hand picked plus the original lake fish. We have ended up with a mixture of types and with the lakes natural sources and a planned feeding plan during the closed season months. We have struck it just right with the fish putting on good weight between 4 and 8 pounds per year. This has given us around 300 excellent quality fish with up to 40 x 40lb + fish up to 100 x 30lb + fish and around 5x50lb+ fish to 54lb. Making this a good 30’s and 40’s water with a few 50’s as well. All our fish are in pristine condition and at the present growth rate this water is going to throw up some great surprises in the very near future.

Facilities

We have fresh running water on the lake with a generator for charging mobiles etc. There is also a fresh water shower, three toilets regularly cleaned. There are local amenities in the nearby village only 5 minutes drive away including Baker, Butcher, Chemist, Tabac, Small Supermarket and two Cafe/Bars. A 15 minute drive to the nearest town will offer you a Major Supermarket, Restaurants, Take away food and much more.

We offer several booking options all based around a 7 day Saturday to Saturday week with group bookings only. The lake has 12 well spaced swims and we have a maximum of 8 anglers per week on the lake. Either a group of 6 or 8 anglers can hire the entire lake to themselves or two groups of up to 4 can share the lake. Our summer season starts from the end of March until the last Saturday in November when our winter rates start.
